Both Herman Wooten and recently retired Greg Stoos were honored at the 2022 NFWOA banquet for their outstanding contributions to the sport of wrestling in Section 6 and New York State.
Herman Wooten was an active NFWOA official for over 30 years, has served as association president, and continues to serve as the NFWOA assigning agent. He also volunteers annually as Sgt. at Arms working in the pit at the NYSPHSAA wrestling championship tournament. Herman’s dedication to youth wrestling and football over the years is unmatched.
Stoos recently celebrated his retirement from officiating after 46 years with the NFWOA, and having worked ten NYSPHSAA championship tournaments as an official. Greg continues to volunteer his time assisting in the training and evaluation of new officials.
